Dalkey
- Isle of Anglesey: Sharing a Culture
Crossing the Irish Sea has long been a way of life for people
living in Ireland and Wales. Archaeological evidence suggests
a connection between these two peoples before the third
millennium B.C.
Share in our culture! We want to share
Dalkey & Anglesey’s parallel cultural legacies with
as many people as possible.
Our Historical Tours take you to out-of-the-way
places, such as remote headlands and hills where you can explore
historic buildings, ancient monuments and beautiful gardens.
Much inspiration can be found in our archaeological, historic
and wildlife environments. Through residencies, we support
Artists to mine these creative veins.
We focus on similarities, rather than differences between
Irish and Welsh cultural heritage. By exchanging myths and
legends in situ, we uncover the traces of common Language.
The Dalkey-Anglesey Project is an Interreg Community 111A
Initiative, spearheaded by the Dalkey Irish Heritage
Town Company and the Isle of Anglesey County
Council's Museums
and Culture Service. For more information see Project
History.
